Ryan Gander is a British conceptual artist, living and working between London and Suffolk. Studying Interactive Art at Manchester Metropolitan University, Gander’s work incorporates a wide variety of materials and medias. 

Gander is a wheelchair user with a long term physical disability, and as such the majority of his work is carried out by a team of specialists as he is often incapable completing the projects himself. His experiences as a disabled artist are often present in his works; His 2006 installation at the old Whitechapel Library was deliberately filled with obstacles, dead ends and debris to enlighten to reflect the difficulties that are routinely faced by the disabled.
